Shame

You bound me for fun and knew I won’t take revenge. You beguiled me as I willingly turned blind. I trusted you and you taught me to never let in. My body remembers every inch and every take. You infected me from within and never once felt shame.

Your pride held strong in the end. Baseless you felt as though a king. I treated you like one when you were born with no name. That desire you felt was from my flames and I burned my light bright to make you bask in that fame. You never had love so I took the blame, I loved you even if it meant rolling in shame.

Shame you will never know the love I gave. You are not capable of giving an ounce of the same. Shame you broke inside my mind, body and soul and shame I let you come and take my innocence away. My innocence meant love and hope but now I’m left hollowed and stoned. In extremes of emptiness I know not what it feels to love. I yearn for separation and relief from this shame.
