Tethers that bind, in space and in time, broken once forever bleed.
It is hard to forgive and it is impossible to trust when broken, when lent without end, can no longer mend. Neurodivergent people find themselves attaching to others easier. Our difficulties with theory of mind makes it harder for us to see that the world is not like us. And, just because we have pure intentions it will not make others’ pure as well. It is our inherent curse to see the world in positive when we are positive and be pathologically naive.
We fail to make sense of this world as it continues to amaze us with how wretched it falls and how brilliant can it mask its true intentions from us. We see the world from a lens of morality and they remind us of our folly every second. It is no wonder why most of us feel misplaced in this world and find ourselves miserable. We lose hope in humanity and all that is good. Some of us, however, still carry on and work our entire lives trying to understand the human mind and undoing the damage that spews from the evils of mankind.
‘Broken in time
Misplaced, unsound
Fears of solitude
Never lost, Never found
Broken trust
Never mended always bound’
