Set free…

Starlight caught in the night, you will always shine bright.

Be in distance be in sight, you shine bright in my heart and my soul fills with your presence. I can not succumb to the darkness and let go of your light. With light in this cold harsh winter, I found warmth. Your light is unlike the burning sun. You shine bright but you do not tinge my flesh, nor do you set my life ablaze. Your light is green and covets the love in my heart. It ignites a spark in me and makes me want you.

I let the light of the burning sun fool me. I mistook your starlight for the glimpse of the burning sun, but you never fooled me, and you were always in the calming moon. You brightened my day and alas I did not know your reality until my heart screamed your name. As much as you coveted my love, I craved to be one with you. My name cursed in the sands of time and a great treachery to the dawning moon. How could I have been such a fool? I am afraid to be the fool who let you go, the fool who chose to distance himself from you without giving you the chance to do so.

I cannot chose for you but I can choose to ask your forgiveness and ask that you light my life once more. The choice will be yours, accept or deny, a burden you can bear or set free.
