Masking in the sun

Time for everything and time to heal, lay back and watch the night as the dawning moon smiles.

The night is peace and brings light to misfits like us. We often forget that the day is not for us and though we may walk in the burning sun it burns us away and we shine the brightest in the night. Our lights so bright that we shame the stars. Alas the sun forces us to hide, and we cannot show our true potential.

It is often when we embrace ourselves and accept that we will shine the brightest when we our ourselves, that we find balance. When we are called strange and divided by the day, we will dim ourselves just to fit in. Being autistic does not mean the inability to shine bright nor does it equate us to inadequacies in functioning. We are spirits free, and we dance with our sister moon. We are different in the burning sun and hide ourselves in the night. Sometimes in the day we can find places where we shine bright and show our love and compassion. While the pull of the celestials is strong, we are our own free spirits and can bend the light around us to shine.

I find meaning in the dawning moon and find my strength and spirituality heightened when I am not forced to be like everyone else and can create my own light. In the mundanity of the suns light, we are often forced to walk the paths forged before, while in the light of the moon we learn to create our own life. That does not mean we prefer day or night, but it shows our relationship with norm. And until we validate ourselves akin to the moon, we will always burn ourselves trying to bask in the glory of the sun.
