Under the burning sun of life, you often find yourself in shade of the cool moon. It sparks a new beginning, and the dawning moon gives you hope. You take a moment to rest in the comfort of her light and recover from the blisters of the relentless sun. It has been a cruel day, but the night is long.
We do not control how our life is, but we can embrace what has been done to us. What gives us life is out of control – our breath has rhythm of its own. We may choose to hold it, and we may try to slow it, but the inevitable rhythm takes over. We cannot control our breath anymore than we control life. How our life moves on is partly under our control and how we experience it our choice. We may choose to embrace the rhythm, or we can fight it and faint. Alas in the end the rhythm will prevail.
I have spent my entire life fighting my breath, my nature and who I am. Only when I embraced my rhythm I found meaning in life. Connecting with my breath has allowed me to focus control and practice patience. It has opened knowledge my body possessed and has invited new hope. My journey has always been about giving hope, but I only found hope for myself when I embraced my nature and understood who I was. Our spirits hold a lot of power and DNA carries a lot of wisdom. How we use them is up to us. Do we let the world shape us or do we embrace the change within us. It may take a thousand moons to embrace our shadows. But our shadows are undefined, and we make them what we want. As long as we are alive our shadows and our potential will be alive.
