Resilience

In a world of lies, there is only one truth. Truth of who you are and who can light the world for you. What we internalize and are gaslit into believing by society is that we need another person to open the doors for us. We need another “abled” person to better enable us to fit into this quaint society. We try to fit ourselves into pieces that are not meant for us and break our bodies and minds to adjust to the world around us. With the up wave of bending the society around people we often forget that it is a double-edged sword. You may reduce the efforts we make trying to fit into this world, but you expect us to fit into this narrative, nonetheless. We are disabled needing to fit into your dynamics without a sense of self. And in this way, we also fail to develop our own resilience. We depend on others and perpetuate the cycle of dependency. We need others to light our way and need support walking the path of a stranger.

If we keep trying to force ourselves into spaces that aren’t meant for us, we will always feel left alone, alien and misfits. A bird cannot swim like a fish and will always be destined for the skies. We do not need to be a school of fish for us to survive but there is beauty in the diversity of nature. Our minds are our strengths, and we may be differently abled, but we are perfectly abled in some things and the truth is only we can define where we land and how we evolve. In the world where freedom is the biggest delusion, we may not have the options, but we can choose to live miserably and drown under the depth of this ocean or take the chance of flight and get shot in the skies. Every moment our wings push us forward we are propelled to our destiny, and it may be complex for a lot of people but in the end the meaning of our life is simple, to connect with ourselves and our inner nature.

There is only one truth, that we have ourselves and we can rely on our inner strength. We are capable of unfathomable things and our resilience knows no bounds.
